church new

There’s a couple of Proverbs that are brought to mind this month on the back of a very successful Tombola but apply equally to our everyday lives.

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. It just makes us feel good to do good, doesn’t it?

Margaret Gibson has done a sterling job of giving freely of her time to plan the Tombola over many months and has asked me to express her very deepest gratitude for all who made it such a success with around 200 people enjoying the fellowship and prizes.  So, to the sponsors, donors, workers, wrappers and everyone who helped in any way: THANK YOU! Through your generosity of time, spirit and donations, we raised over $6600 to maintain our church for the many people who attend and to welcome all others who have been thinking about it.  There will be a complete report at the next church meeting on 5 August after the Uniting Service.  Come for a cuppa and stay to hear what is being planned.

mainly music resumes on Wednesdays during school terms.
