OUTRIGGERS on Australia Day !
Great day out by the river at Lions Park for Burrum community and visitors alike. Multiple club groups, and family gatherings, enjoyed picnics and BBQs in near perfect weather at our beautiful riverside park and beaches.
Amateur Fishing Club, Blue Water Boat Club, Outriggers, and lots of family groups were all present celebrating our National Day.
Outriggers had their boats decorated with flags and flowers for the occasion.
New paddlers were welcomed to "come and try" outrigging, and share our BBQ treats and tropical fruit platters.
Club crews were kept busy along the foreshore all morning, with over thirty paddlers trying outrigging for the first time. Quite a few prospective new members displayed remarkable natural talent. "We will have to get a bigger boat"
How fortunate we are to have such wonderful recreation facilities. The small swimming beach at Lions Park was enjoyed to the max by kids and adults cooling off....and Huck Finn and his adventurous mate were last seen heading off to find treasure in their home made raft. That’s what rivers are for...
